The Canadian Medical Association (CMA) and its agent Practice Solutions Web Services Inc. (Practice Solutions), a CMA subsidiary, are making this social networking site available to Canadian physicians and medical students who are registered users of cma.ca to foster a positive exchange of ideas on issues that are of interest to Canadian physicians.

This site is a product of cma.ca and as such, your use of this site is governed by the Terms and Conditions of use for cma.ca. The following Terms of Use are consistent with the cma.ca Terms and Conditions and are designed specifically for the Asklepios social networking site. If there is a conflict or inconsistency between the Asklepios Terms of Use and the Terms and Conditions for cma.ca, the more specific Asklepios Terms of Use apply to your use of the social networking site.

By participating in the Asklepios social networking site you agree, without limitation or qualification, to be bound by and to comply with, these Terms of Use. Please read it carefully. We may revise these Terms of Use from time to time. Your continued use of the Asklepios social networking site constitutes your acceptance of any such revisions. We encourage you to review this document regularly.

'You' and 'your' refers to each physician or medical student who is a registered user of cma.ca and who is granted a username and password to use the Asklepios social networking site.'We' and 'our' and 'us' refers to CMA and Practice Solutions.

1. About the Site. The Asklepios social networking site is provided to Canadian physicians and medical students as a place where they can go to exchange information and ideas with colleagues. Asklepios will allow you to form connections with your colleagues and easily share information and collaborate on topics of interest to you. You will be able to create a unique personal profile and communicate and share materials with other Asklepios members through tools such as private conversations, public groups, blogs, comments and other tools and services that may be included from time to time.

2. Membership. Canadian physicians and medical students who are registered users of cma.ca are eligible to participate in Asklepios. If you would like to invite a colleague to participate who is not currently a registered cma.ca user, he or she will be asked to register prior to accepting your invitation. Registration is free and easy.

3. Conduct.You agree
(a) to be respectful of the ideas and opinions expressed by others,
(b) to not make any defamatory or disparaging statements about any person,
(c) to respect copyright, trademark and other proprietary rights,
(d) to not post messages or attach files unless you have the authority to do so, and
(d) to not post messages that infringe upon the rights of others, contain offensive language, are obscene or that otherwise violate any laws. Please take care when posting messages of a clinical nature that you do not inadvertently reveal personally identifying details of individuals including patients.

You are, at all times solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining all patient consents, if applicable, and all other legally necessary consents or permissions required or advisable to disclose, process, retrieve, and transmit any information in connection with the Asklepios site. Illegal and/or unauthorized use of the site or any portion of it, including but not limited to, collecting user names and/or email addresses of members by electronic or other means for unauthorized purposes such as sending unsolicited email is prohibited. You may not use this social networking site for chain letters, research studies or survey solicitations, junk mail, 'spamming,' commercial or non-commercial solicitations, or bulk communications of any kind to any person who has not given specific permission to be included in such list.

3. Ownership.You represent and warrant that you own, or have the necessary licenses, consents, permissions, and rights to use and to authorize us to use, all copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other proprietary rights in and to all content that you upload to the site.

4. Compliance.We may employ filtering technologies to scan messages for content that disregard these Terms of Use. In the event that we become aware of any user misconduct or other breaches of these Terms of Use we reserve the right to review messages or to take other appropriate action as we determine in our sole discretion. For example, we may investigate an allegation and determine, in good faith, to remove or block access to content. We also have the right, but not the obligation, to remove, change from public to private or otherwise block or restrict any content at any time, with or without notice and without liability. Ultimately however, you alone are responsible for the content of your messages or any materials that you post to the site.

5. Privacy. The Askelpios social networking site is a service provided by cma.ca and is governed by the cma.ca Online Privacy Policy. You may change your individual privacy settings by modifying your profile from the Asklepios homepage.
